Arsenal will offer a contract extension to Arsene Wenger amid claims that he could be a contender for the England job. The Three Lions are currently managerless after Roy Hodgson stepped down following a humiliating defeat at the hands of Iceland.
England suffered their worst ever result in history as they went to down to Iceland by a 2-1 scoreline in the round of 16 of the European championships.
According to The Mail, Wenger will be handed a fresh two-year deal at the Emirates with the Football Association wanting the Frenchman to takeover the national hotseat at the end of 2016/17 season.
The 66-year-old has a year left on his existing contract, and it is thought that he will evaluate his future midway through the next campaign.
