Diafra Sakho has handed in a transfer request amid West Ham United's search for a new striker. The Hammers are on the look out for a marquee centre-forward as they seek to compete with the league's best next season.
According to Sky Sports News, the Senegal international is set to quits on his Hammers career with the club yet to give on their pursuit for a high-profile signing.
The East London outfit have previously failed in their attempts to sign Michy Batshuayi and Alexandre Lacazette, and this is thought to have unsettled the 26-year-old.
League rivals Sunderland are expected to come up with a fresh approach for Sakho having had an £11m bid rebuffed last month.
Sakho has netted 19 goals in 49 outings for the Hammers since his debut in 2014.
