Arsenal are nearing an agreement for Mauro Icardi after his agent arrived in London to hold talks over the proposed transfer. Inter Milan have placed the striker on the transfer market this summer.

The Argentine has been a key contributor for the Nerazzurri in recent seasons, and he is now thought to be ready for a fresh challenge in a new league.

According to Corriere della Sera, Wanda Nara, the agent and wife of Icardi, has flown to the English capital to strike a deal with the North London giants.

The Nerazzurri currently value Icardi at £40m, but the Gunners remain confident of negotiating a £33m sum for the player's signature.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to add a new centre-forward to his ranks this summer with Olivier Giroud being granted an extended rest after his Euro 2016 exploits with France.
