Everton to move for Martins Indi

Everton turn to Bruno Martins Indi

24 July 2016 - 16:03

Everton have set their sights on signing Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi. The Toffees are depleted in the central defensive department after Phil Jagielka suffered a recurrence to his hamstring problem.

  • Chelsea to move for Bendegúz Kovács?
  • Chelsea star to miss FA Cup final with hamstring injury
  • The Mail reports that the Toffees are keen on landing a centre-back this summer with the future of John Stones hanging in the balance.

Stones, 22, is currently the subject of interest from Manchester City, and a £50m move is likely to go through in the coming weeks.

Kalidou Koulibaly was Ronald Koeman's preferred target for the transfer window, before Napoli placed a hefty £45m valuation on his services.

And, this seems to have urged the Dutchman to switch his attention to Martins Indi, whom he previously coached at Feyenoord.

Porto are willing to offload the 24-year-old for a £12.5m sum.
