Lyon are reluctant to let go of Alexandre Lacazette unless a club matches his £40m valuation. The striker has been a consistent performer for Les Gones in recent years.
The 25-year-old was the subject of a Premier League move last summer before he penned a fresh four-year contract with the Ligue 1.Â
He followed to have a good season with the French outfit netting 23 goals in all competitions.
The Gunners have failed to get in deals for Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain this summer, and it is thought that Lacazette is the next in their shortlist.
According to The Mirror, Les Gones have asked the Gunners to come with a £40m offer for their marksman after they had an initial bid of £29m rebuffed.
Lacazette's pace and creativity could be a welcome addition for the North London outfit, who have been largely dependent on Olivier Giroud for the centre-forward role.
The striker has netted over 20 goals in each of his last three seasons at Lyon.
