  • The 26-year-old fell out-of-favour at the Emirates during the previous campaign with the likes of Petr Cech and David Ospina being preferred ahead of him in the pecking order.

He followed to make a temporary switch to Roma where he appeared in 34 league outings as they achieved Champions League qualification for next season.

Roma have been in talks with the Gunners over Szczesny's position in recent weeks, and according to Sky Sports, the shot-stopper is set to link up with the Serie A side on loan for the second straight season.

Luciano Spalletti's side will have the option of turning the agreement into a permanent one for £13.4m next summer.
