West Ham have made an initial offer for Ludwig Augustinsson, who is wanted as a replacement for the injured full back Aaron Cresswell. Defender Augustinsson plays for FC Copenhagen and will be allowed to leave for around £5 million.
The Hammers have already started their planning for the new season at the Olympic Stadium with the signings of Havard Nordtveit, Sofiane Feghouli and Gokhan Tore and now are hopeful that a deal for the Swedish international Augustinsson can be agreed next week.
The 22-year-old defender was a member of Sweden's Euro 2016 squad and is reportedly looking for a move to one of Europe's top leagues this summer.
