Sunderland and Celtic are among the leading clubs vying for the services of Manchester United defender Paddy McNair. The Northern Irishman is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The 21-year-old has been placed on the transfer market with Jose Mourinho looking to offload some of the club's fringe players.

According to The Sun, David Moyes is keen on recruiting McNair for the Black Cats having previously worked with him at United in the 2013-14 season.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers' Celtic also have the player on their radar as they seek to bolster their defensive options.

McNair struggled for regular playing time during the previous campaign, and he is likely to be available on a cut-price deal.

The defender has racked 27 appearances for United since his debut in 2014.
