Tottenham Hotspur have stunned Arsenal by comprehensively beating them 5-1 in the second leg of the Carling Cup and 6-2 on aggregate.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Spurs thoroughly deserved their victory as a weakened Arsenal side at no point looked like they would turn the tie around.

Spurs got off to the perfect start when Jermaine Jenas angled in a shot to put them 2-1 ahead on aggregate.

Arsenal's Nicolas Bendtner then headed into his own net before Robbie Keane's 18-yard shot put Spurs 3-0 up.

Aaron Lennon sidefooted in for Spurs before Emmanuel Adebayor grabbed a consolation for Arsenal but Steed Malbranque's strike completed the rout.

Arsenal will now turn their attention to the F,A, Champions league and Premiership for silverware, and Spurs will await the winner of tomorrow's semi final between Chelsea and Everton to see who they will play in the final.
