Arsenal have had a £15m bid turned down for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi. The Gunners are desperate to sign a new centre-back this summer after Per Mertesacker suffered a long-term knee injury.
The North London outfit have been in talks with Los Che in recent days, and it is believed their initial offer of around £15m was knocked back.
Mustafi currently has a £42.2m release clause on his contract, and Los Che would accept half the price, given they are not in the Champions League next season.
The German international was a transfer target for Manchester City in 2015 before they opted to recruit fellow teammate Nicolas Otamendi in a £32m deal.
He was recently part of his national side that reached the semi-finals of the European championships.
The 25-year-old has appeared in 78 outings for Valencia since his switch from Schalke 04 in 2014.
