Everton to return for Ashley Williams?

05 August 2016 - 06:45

Everton are set to lodge an improved offer for Swansea City skipper Ashley Williams. The Toffees failed with a £10m bid earlier in the week.

  • Chelsea quoted price to sign Igor Thiago
  • Chelsea make Joao Pedro transfer decision
  • Williams had a summer to remember as he guided Wales to the semi-finals of European championships, only to lose to eventual champions Portugal.

Sky Sports News says the Toffees will table a fresh bid for the centre-back with manager Ronald Koeman desperate to bolster his backline in the transfer window.

The 31-year-old was tipped to join the Merseysiders recently before the Swans surprisingly ruled out his sale.

Koeman has plenty to worry about this summer with the futures of John Stones and Romelu Lukaku yet to be resolved.

Williams is currently the Swans' longest-serving playing having joined them from Stockport County in 2008.
