Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is lining up a shock offer for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski as he bids to strengthen his frontline this summer. The Poland international has recently snubbed an extension with the Bundesliga holders.
Lewandowski is thought to be keen on a fresh challenge with European champions Real Madrid currently heading the chase for his services.
However, according to The Sun, the Gunners could make a surprise raid for 27-year-old with Wenger looking to add a world-class marksman to his ranks in the transfer window.
The North London giants would have to cough a record £60m sum for the player, who netted 42 goals in 51 outings for Bayern during the previous campaign.
Mesut Ozil is currently the club's record signing having joined from Real Madrid for £42.5m in 2013.
