Liverpool have made an official bid to sign defender Bruno Martins Indi from Porto. The Netherlands international is free to leave the Primeira Liga side this summer after he failed to live up to his potential.
Turkish source Fanatik says the Reds have made an initial £4.3m offer for the 24-year-old with manager Jurgen Klopp looking to add depth to his central defensive department.
Mamadou Sakho has been tipped to depart Anfield on a temporary basis this summer, and this will leaves the Reds with no reliable back-up to Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan.
Porto are thought to value Martins Indi at £6m, and this is likely to bring up a bidding war, with Turkish champions Besiktas also in the hunt for his signature.
Martins Indi joined Porto from Dutch side Feyenoord following an impressive showing at the 2014 World Cup finals.
