Danny Simpson extends Leicester contract

02 September 2016 - 08:00

Danny Simpson has committed his future to Leicester City by penning a fresh contract which would keep him at the club until the summer of 2019.

  • Man Utd expecting €80m boost with double player sale
  • Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Bayer Leverkusen, Gyokeres starts
  • The former Manchester United graduate was a key player for the Foxes last term as they clinched their maiden league title.

The 29-year-old, who joined from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, had just a year left on his previous deal at the King Power Stadium.

"I'm over the moon. I've been here two years now and the club is going places," he told the club's official website.

Simpson, who featured 31 times during the 2015/16 campaign, follows key players in Danny Drinkwater, Riyad Mahrez, and Jamie Vardy into inking long-term deals with the Premier League champions.
