Mathieu Flamini is having a series of medical tests with Crystal Palace ahead of his Bosman move to the club. The midfielder is out-of-contract after he was released from Arsenal at the end of the previous campaign.
The 32-year-old had attracted interest from clubs in Turkey and France this summer, but his aim was always to remain in the Premier League.
Eagles boss Alan Pardew had held negotiations with the Frenchman recently and according to co-owner Steve Parish, the player is undergoing a medical at South London before finalizing terms over a contract.
Flamini is likely to fill the void left by Mile Jedinak who opted to join Championship side Aston Villa over the transfer window.
He appeared in 246 outings for Arsenal in two stints with lasted for a period of seven years.
