Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City have joined the pursuit for reported Liverpool target Max Meyer. The 20-year-old was on the Reds radar over the summer, but a deal failed to materialize.

  • The German youngster is highly-rated by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, and he had previously tried to pursue his services while at Borussia Dortmund.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the Merseysiders are not alone in the chase for the attacker with Tottenham Hotspur and Premier League holders Leicester City also keeping a close eye on his progress.

The midfielder has shown reluctance to pen an extension to his previous deal at Gelsenkirchen which is due to expire in the summer of 2018.

Schalke 04 will demand fees in excess of £30m for their asset when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Meyer has racked over 120 appearances for Schalke 04 since his debut in February 2013.
