Man Utd to make fresh Carvalho bid

Manchester United will retain their interest in Sporting midfielder William Carvalho when the transfer window reopens in the New Year. The Portugal international has been long linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal and Chelsea being his other suitors.

    The 24-year-old is currently in the prime of his career, and his performances for Portugal at the European championships in France has reignited interest from the Mancunian giants.

    Carvalho was a key player for Fernando Santos' side over the summer as they beat hosts France to life the Euro 2016 title.

    Despite the speculation surrounding his future, the midfielder has iterated that he would prefer to lift the Primeira Liga crown at Sporting before pursuing his career elsewhere.
