Mkhitaryan wants number 10 role at United

Henrikh Mkhitaryan unhappy at Man Utd

Summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly growing frustrated at Manchester United with Jose Mourinho reluctant to play him in his preferred position.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Armenian international joined the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund over the summer, and has since struggled to adapt to Premier League football.

According to The Sun, the 27-year-old is discontent with his current role at Old Trafford despite being successful on the right wing for BVB last season.

Mkhitaryan racked in 24 assists from the right side of the attack last term, and it was thought that he would occupy a similar position at United.

However, the attacker is rather interested in playing in the number '10' role which is of a support striker, and this seems to have affected his performance on the field.

Mkhitaryan was highly disappointing in the 2-1 loss to Manchester City over the weekend where he was subbed off at half-time. He is likely to settle for a place in the substitutes' bench when his side take on Feyenoord in the Europa League.
