Ukrainian striker Andrei Voronin has been dealt the hammer blow that he will be out of action for up to six weeks with an ankle injury. The Liverpool striker, who joined in the summer, has fallen out of favour under Rafa Benitez lately.
Voronin is now likely to miss the Reds' next eight games - including next month's first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie with Internazionale.
The versatile striker has fallen out of favour in recent months, but started the season in impressive fashion.
He scored three times in his first four appearances following a free transfer switch from the Bundesliga in July.
