Blaise Matuidi has iterated that he is completely focused on his job at Paris Saint-Germain. The France international was strongly tipped to join Juventus over the summer, but a deal failed to materialise.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • The 29-year-old had been eyed as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba, who returned to Manchester United on a world-record deal, but manager Unai Emery blocked his move.

While speaking to Le Parisien, the Frenchman insisted that he is content to have remained at the Capital outfit, and he aims to help his side reach greater heights during the ongoing campaign.

"Yes, I'm very happy [to have stayed]," he told Le Parisien. "I take pleasure [from being here] and I have no regrets today. That belongs to the past, it's behind me. I'm focused and completely with PSG."

Les Parisiens have cruised through the French league in recent years, but this season may be their toughest ever with the likes of Nice, Monaco and Lyon in contention for the title.

Paris Saint-Germain suffered a shocking 2-0 loss to Toulouse on Friday night, and this could see them drop as low as seventh after the weekend.
