Juventus to rekindle Matic interest

02 October 2016 - 06:02

Juventus will revive their long-standing interest in Nemanja Matic when the transfer window reopens in three months' time. The Serbian international has been ever-present for Chelsea this season.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The 28-year-old had attracted interest from the Old Lady over the summer before talks with the Blues' hierarchy convinced him to stay put at Stamford Bridge.

However, his situation still remains uncertain at West London with coach Antonio Conte eyeing a major reshuffle of his squad which could see the Serbian head through the exit door.

Italian source Calciomercato suggests that the Turin giants will lodge a £23m bid for the anchorman in January as they seek to fill the void left by Paul Pogba.

Pogba had been an excellent servant for the Serie A holders over the years before he decided to rejoin Manchester United on a world-record deal in the summer.

Matic has amassed 117 outings for Chelsea since his second coming from Benfica in January 2014.
