AC Milan can get their hands on Diego Godin this summer, provided they match Atletico Madrid's £26m valuation for his services. The Uruguay international has been with Atleti since 2010.

  • According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri will go on a spending spree in the New Year having been backed by the takeover from a Chinese consortium.

The likes of Cesc Fabregas, and Simone Zaza are high on the club's radar, but the need to reinforce the backline also remains a priority for the Milan giants.

Godin, 30, has been an excellent servant for Atleti over the years, but with a young Jose Gimenez on the wings, they are open to cashing in on his signature.

A fee of around £26m has been quoted for the Rossoneri to land the central defender in January. Godin has appeared in more than 250 games for Atletico Madrid since arriving from Villareal six years ago.
