Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has urged the club's hierarchy to lodge a winter bid for Everton defender Seamus Coleman. The Republic of Ireland international has been long linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Coleman, 27, has been on the Red Devils radar since 2013, but unfortunately they have failed to negotiate a deal with the Toffees.
According to The Mirror, the Special One is eager to recruit a new right-back in the New Year and sees Coleman as the perfect fit for his side.
Antonio Valencia has acted as the make-shift right-back this term and there is the need for a specialist in the position with Timothy Fosu-Mensah still in a development phase.
Meanwhile, Matteo Darmian has already finalized terms over a move to Inter Milan and the deal is likely to be confirmed when the transfer window reopens in three months' time.
Coleman has a rich vein of experience in the top flight having featured in over 175 games since joining from Sligo Rovers in 2009.
