Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring the performances of Lyon defender Emanuel Mammana. The centre-half joined the French giants from River Plate in the summer.
Mammana, who has earned a sole cap with the Argentine national side, had attracted interest from Chelsea during the previous transfer window.
According to The Sun, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to move for the player in the New Year having been impressed in his short transition to European football.
The defender currently has a £9m release clause written into his Lyon contract, and this is well within the reach of Spurs, who are looking to included an additional centre-back to their ranks.
Tottenham Hotspur have been largely dependant on Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld in the heart of the defence this term, and this is something Pochettino is looking to resolve with the heavy workload in all competitions.
