  • Spanish sports newspaper Sport is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are desperate to sign Real Madrid outcast Isco when the transfer window re-opens in January, and are willing to pay as much as €45 million to land the player.

Isco signed for Madrid in the Summer of 2013 in a €30 million deal from Malaga. Los Blancos had to fend off serious interest from Manchester City at the time, and the player’s stock was especially high due to his part in helping the Spain youngsters win the European under-21 Championship, having scored three goals in the tournament including one in the final.

Since Zinedine Zidane was ppointed successor to Rafa Benitez as manager at the Santiago Bernabeu Isco has found playing time hard to come by. Indeed. The 23-year-old has not completed 90 minutes for club or country since April, and his lack of first team action led to him being left out of Vicente Del Bosque’s 23-man Spain squad for the UEFA European Championship in France this summer.

Isco has recently admitted that he may have to leave Madrid in the near future in order to seek regular first team football. Spurs are known to be huge admirers of the gifted midfielder.
