AC Milan could look to sign French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia from rivals Inter Milan, with Liverpool also interested, according to reports in Italy.

  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • Calciomercato is reporting that AC Milan could be weighing up a swoop for Inter Milan’s French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, with the player unsettled with the Nerazzurri.

Tuttomercato reported recently that Liverpool are also interested in the powerhouse midfielder who signed for Inter from Monaco in a €35 million deal in the summer of 2015.

The 6 ft 2 ins Frenchman has failed to live up to his price tag so far in Serie A, and after a summer in which the Milanese club signed midfielders Ever Banega from Sevilla and Joao Mario from Sporting Club de Portugal, adding to the likes of Gary Medel and Felipe Melo who were already at the San Siro, Inter may look to sell Kondogbia.

The former Monaco player is a five cap France international but he has not appeared for Les Bleus since 2015, and was left out of Didier Deschamps 23 man squad for this summer’s UEFA European Championship on home soil.

If Inter are to sell Kondogbia, it is highly likely that they will have to accept a significantly lower fee for the player than what that forked out to Sevilla a year ago.

AC Milan are thought to be in the hunt for a central midfielder to replace injured captain Ricardo Montolivo, and have also been linked with a move for Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas.
