Inter Milan approach for Darmian

Serie A giants Inter Milan have submitted a formal offer for Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian. The Italy international will be on the move in January as he is not in the plans of Jose Mourinho.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • According to Leggo, the Nerazzuri have proposed to pay an initial £800k to take Darmian on loan with a view to a permanent £12m switch at the end of the season.

The Red Devils are currently holding out for a £16m sum for their defender, but an agreement is likely to be reached before the end of the month.

Darmian, who joined the Mancunian giants from Torino last year, has failed to make a league appearance this term, and signs are he will return to the Serie A at the earliest opportunity.

He appeared in 28 league outings for Manchester United under the management of Louis van Gaal last season.
