Jordan Pickford has been the shining light in a very poor start to the season for Sunderland.

Everton Interested in Sunderland's Jordan Pickford

According to The Sun, Ronald Koeman is looking at 22-year-old Jordan Pickford as a long-term replacement for Maarten Stekelenburg.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The England Under-21 international has been one of the few positives in Sunderland's poor start to the season, and is third for most saves made in the European top 5 leagues for players under 22 years of age.

At the start of the season there were questions as to whether 34 year old Maarten Stekelenburg would be a good enough first team goalkeeper for Everton this season, however he has had a brilliant start to the season making to penalty saves against Manchester City to make sure they got a point out of the game, and having not conceded more than 1 goal per game.

Yet at 34 years old, the Toffees will surely be looking for a long term replacement for the Dutchman and Jordan Pickford seems like the perfect fit.

However David Moyes will want to hang on to the talented youngster, meaning that it would take a lot of money, likely over £20m for him to be prised away from the Black Cats.
