Sunderland could replace David Moyes with former boss Sam Allardyce, should an unnamed Chinese consortium complete the takeover.

Big 'Sam' left the Black Cats in the summer after he was picked to succeed Roy Hodgson as the new head coach.

However, his position with the Three Lions was shortlived with him being filmed giving advice on how to bend FA Cup rules on third-party ownership.

According to The Sun, the Black Cats owner Ellis Short is in discussions over the sale of the club in a potential £150m deal.

Allardyce didn't leave the Wearsiders in a good stead having failed to thank his previous employers, but this won't have any influence on the new owners.

The Black Cats have struggled under Moyes this season, and are currently rockbottom of the standings with two points.
