Chelsea boss Antonio Conte believes Willian has a huge role to play for the Blues this season. The Brazil international has been recently linked with a move to Manchester United amid his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues Player of the Year has struggled to cement a regular place under Antonio Conte since his return from a compassionate leave last month.
Recent speculation suggested the winger could join former boss Jose Mourinho in a £40m deal in January, but according to Conte, the player has been allowed an extended break in order to overcome the death of his mother.
"He's come back and now it's important to find good form because, in this period, he was unlucky. You know why [he was initially missing]. But it is important now to be focused on work and find continuity in training. Willy is an important player for us and I count upon him a lot," he told reporters.
Willian is expected to regain a starting berth at Chelsea in the coming weeks as they head to a busy festive schedule which could define their title credentials.
