Manchester United are prepared to extend the contract of midfielder Juan Mata following his impressive start to the new season. The Spaniard has less than two years left on his previous deal.
Mata, 28, was initially expected to struggle for first-team football under Jose Mourinho due to their alleged fallout at Chelsea.
However, the two have since got on well with the 'Special One' denying playing any part in Mata's exit from Stamford Bridge.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils will reward Mata with a fresh long-term deal with Mourinho considering the player as a key part of his plans.
Mata recently captained his side during the 1-1 draw against West Ham United in the league, and this shows the amount of trust Mourinho has in his abilities.
The Spain international has netted five goals and an assist in all competitions for Manchester United this term.
