Valencia have opted against a permanent deal for on-loan Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder

  • The 25-year-old joined the La Liga side on a season-long loan in the summer after he was deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad.

Since then, he has struggled in his time with the Mestalla outfit, and this has urged the side to turn down advances of a permanent transfer at the end of the campaign.

According to The Sun, the Citizens are likely to be stuck with the central defender with Los Che not keen on parting with a &pound15m sum for his signature next summer.

City boss Pep Guardiola was not in favour of Mangala's services in August, and it is likely that he will be sold to a new club on his return to Manchester.
