Julian Draxler close to Wolfsburg exit

German international Julian Draxler has been dropped out of first-team duties at Wolfsburg amid his desire to leave the club in the January transfer window.

  • Chelsea to complete deal for Pep Chavarria
  • Malo Gusto to complete move from Chelsea to Man City this week

  • The World Cup winner is believed to be edging towards a move to the Premier League with long-term admirers being favourites to acquire his signature.

Draxler, who inked a fresh five-year contract in August 2015, was booed by the club's faithful last weekend after he expressed his intention to leave the Volkswagen Arena in the German press.

According to German source Buzzer, manager Valerien Ismael has excluded the player from his matchday squad after the 23-year-old iterated that he would never play for the club again.

Arsene Wenger has always been a huge admirer of Draxler, and it is believed that Arsenal could pursue his services for a £30m fee despite having a £43m bid turned down in the summer.
