Former Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is part of a 4 man shortlist of possible coaches for Nottingham Forest, along with Mike Phelan, Kenny Jacket and Oscar Garcia.
Giggs was handed over the reins at Old Trafford after David Moyes’ dismal run as manager within just 10 months of his appointment. Although Giggs couldn’t salvage United’s season, despite his best efforts, United performed considerably well under his management.
This brief but successful spell led Giggs to be appointed as assistant to Louis Van Gaal, when he succeeded Moyes in 2014. And thought, there was some speculation as to Giggs succeeding Van Gaal at the end of last season, this was put to rest when Jose Mourinho was given the top job at United.
Although Giggs has been on Forest’s radar for a while now, he is likely to face stiff competition from Mike Phelan who would be seeking an immediate return to management having recently been sacked by Hull City.
