Olivier Giroud open to China transfer?

19 January 2017 - 08:33

Olivier Giroud has revealed that he would be open to a Chinese challenge in the final years of his career. The 30-year-old recently inked a fresh contract to keep him at the Emirates until the summer of 2020.

  • The France international had been a regular on the substitutes' bench until the festive period before manager Arsene Wenger decided to offer him a run in the starting line-up.

Since then, the striker has amassed five goals and two assists in all competitions, and this has got the Gunners out of critical situation in games.

While being questioned on his future plans, Giroud revealed that he would like to ply his trade in the Chinese Super League, but only after lifting the Premier League crown with the Gunners.

Giroud has been often criticised for his performances at Arsenal, but his tally of 63 goals in 148 outings remains a good return for any striker featuring in the top flight.
