Swansea boss iterates desire to keep Llorente

22 January 2017 - 17:40

Swansea City manager Paul Clement has revealed his intention to keep hold of Fernando Llorente for the remainder of the campaign. The Spain international is a top transfer target for Blues boss Antonio Conte, who is eager to bolster his forward ranks this month.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Llorente, 31, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some while with Conte seeking to find a suitable backup to Diego Costa up front.

Following the impressive 3-2 win over Liverpool, Clement hinted that he could ignore offers for the player, who has already added eight goals to his tally this season.

"He played very well," he was quoted as saying on Wales Online. "Am I afraid to lose him? I want to keep him here and the reason I want to keep him here is what he showed today."

Gylfi Sigurdsson is the other being linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium, but Swansea City are confident of warding of any interest.
