Premier League giants Arsenal reportedly have a backup option, should Alexis Sanchez part ways with the club in the summer.
The Chilean has been reluctant to ink terms over a fresh deal despite approaching the final 18 months of his contract.
Both Ozil and Alexis are currently in a contract standoff at the Emirates, but the Gunners are more concerned over the latter, who has been more of an influence in the starting lineup this season.
According to WhoScored, the North London side have lined up Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus as a potential target to replace Alexis at the end of the campaign.
The Gunners are likely to demand fees in excess of £55m from Alexis' sale, and this would enable them to fund a move for Reus, who has been strongly linked with a Premier League switch in recent years.
Reus, who is contracted to BvB until 2019, has made just five league appearances this term due to injury.
