West Ham Agree Dimitri Payet Deal with Marseille

West Ham Agree Dimitri Payet Deal with Marseille

29 January 2017 - 15:29

West Ham agreed a £25 million deal with Marseille, for the sale of their star midfielder Dimitri Payet on Sunday.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Payet joined the Hammers in 2015 and was an integral part of the West Ham lineup that finished the last Premier League season in 7th place.

However, the ongoing season has been a contrasting experience for both Payet, as well as West Ham; with neither being able to recreate their form from the last campaign.

Things got worse for Payet and West Ham when manager Slaven Bilic earlier confirmed that the French midfielder did not want to play for West Ham anymore, thus forcing a move out away from the London based club.

And though many expected Payet to move to a bigger club, he is all set to make a return to the Stade Velodrome, with a deal finally being agreed between the two clubs, subject to a medical.  Payet has flown to his native to complete the medical and should be announced as a Marseille player, once again, in the coming days.
