Andrea Ranocchia makes Premier League move

Inter Milan Andrea Ranocchia has reportedly joined Hull City on loan for the rest of the campaign. The Italy international was previously on the radar of both Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur.

  • The 28-year-old links up with the Tigers following a frustrating first half to the campaign where he appeared just times for the Nerazzurri.

Ranocchia was spotted arriving for a medical at the Hull training ground earlier in the day, and it is now official that he has penned a temporary deal with the Premier League strugglers.

The centre-half is likely to be drafted to the starting lineup at the earliest opportunity after Curtis Davies sustained a hamstring problem which could keep him out for two months.

Apart from Ranocchia, Hull have also signed the likes of Oumar Niasse and Lazar Markovic on similar loan deals as they seek to overcome the departures of Robert Snodgrass and Jake Livermore.

Andrew Robertson was also due to move to Burnley on a £10m deal, but it seems that the transfer has been called off to prevent former side Dundee United from receiving a £1m windfall.
