Barcelona are reportedly lining up a shock move for Southampton's Cedric Soares at the end of the season.
The Portugal international has emerged as a potential option for the Catalan giants as they seek to add a new right-back to their ranks in the summer transfer window.
Luis Enrique's side failed to find a suitable replacement for Dani Alves at the start of the campaign, and this has seen Sergi Roberto occupy the right side of the defence even though he has been unimpressive at times.
According to The Telegraph, the Spanish champions will step up their interest for a fresh recruit with deputy Aleix Vidal likely to miss the beginning of the 2017/18 season.
Soares linked up with the Saints from Sporting for £5m in 2015 and therein played a part in Portugal's Euro 2016 triumph last summer.
He has since maintained his form in the top flight which has, in turn, helped his side reach the EFL Cup finals versus Manchester United - due to be played this Sunday.
Southampton are expected to demand at least £15m for Soares' sale in the summer given they are also in a tough situation with regards to the futures of Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand.
