Former Manchester United star Paul Ince has urged club-captain Wayne Rooney to consider a return to Everton in the summer.
The England international is due to leave his beloved club in the summer transfer window following a run which has seen him for regular playing time.
Rooney has just 16 months left on his existing United contract, and a move to Goodison Park would favour both the club and the player, Ince suggests.
"If he decided to go there, he's going to a team with an excellent manager in a side that are pushing forwards and want to play good football," he wrote on his Paddy Power blog.
He added that the 31-year-old's presence would be an added boost to the younger players, who could look for advice - just as Zlatan has done at Old Trafford this season.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman also hinted at the prospect of signing Wayne Rooney in the summer, but there could still be stiff competition from the Chinese Super League.
