A former Premier League footballer has accused Leicester City interim manager Craig Shakespeare of being out of order for declaring that he wants to be the next permanent manager at the King Power Stadium.
Speaking the BBC Sport, Martin Keown has suggested that Shakespeare is "almost out of order that he wants to jump in for the job." Keown went on to say that Leicester require a manager with much more experience if they are to maintain their Premier League status.
In contrast, another former professional, Danny Murphy, explained that he feels that whilst Shakespeare is winning matches with the Foxes, there is no reason why Leicester should look to replace him.
Craig Shakespeare has never managed a team full-time, but has been assistant manager under Nigel Pearson and Claudio Ranieri during his time with the current Premier league champions.
Since the departure of Claudio Ranieri from the club, Shakespeare has guided Leicester to two consecutive victories, scoring six goals and moving five points clear of the relegation zone. Many fans are supporting Shakespeare and have expressed that they would prefer to see him given the job on a permanent basis instead of seeing current favourite Roy Hodgson appointed.
