Cesc Fabregas to leave Chelsea this summer

Fabregas still uncertain over Blues future

Cesc Fabregas to leave Chelsea this summer

07 March 2017 - 06:06

Spain international Cesc Fabregas will part ways with Chelsea in the summer, should Antonio Conte still remain in charge.

  • Chelsea star wins PFA Young Player of the Year award
  • Chelsea midfielder won't join Premier League rivals

  • The World Cup winner has had restricted playing time under the Italian coach this season, though he has started the last three games in all competitions.

According to The Star, the 29-year-old is lining up a surprise exit from Stamford Bridge despite previously suggesting that he will remain at Chelsea for the long-term.

The former Barcelona man has been often ignored from the starting lineup, and he is aware that the failure to perform on a particular day will eventually cost him his place to Nemanja Matic.

Conte has been linked with a potential return to Serie A with Inter Milan, who are prepared to offer him a £53m salary across four seasons, and Fabregas' decision could hinder on the manager's decision.

The ex-Italy coach has clearly stated that it is hard to start Fabregas from the off, and it would be no surprise if the midfielder is benched for the FA Cup clash against Manchester United, despite having been a regular starter in the competition.
