Robert Lewandowski's representative Maik Barthel has literally ruled out the possibility of the striker joining Manchester United this summer.
The Poland international has been long linked with a move to Old Trafford with a recent report from The Independent suggesting that he could be a backup option for Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann.
Griezmann has been earmarked as United's prime summer target, but it appears that the difficulty of negotiating the deal has brought both Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) and Kylian Mbappe (AS Monaco) onto their focus.
Speaking to ESPN, Barthel seemed to rubbish the speculation over his client, he said: "Does any top player in the world want to be a plan B?"
The former Borussia Dortmund ace has netted nearly 100 goals in less than three seasons at Bayern, and he looks set to stay for the long-term after having inked a fresh contract until 2021.
Lewandowski netted the first goal in the 5-1 Champions League mauling of Arsenal last night as Bayern secured their passage to the last eight via a 10-2 aggregate win.
