Bournemouth have second thoughts over Wilshere

Cherries drop interest in signing Wilshere on a permanent basis

Bournemouth have second thoughts over Wilshere

14 March 2017 - 06:25

Bournemouth may have cooled their interest in signing on-loan Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere on a permanent basis.

  • Chelsea set £35m price to sell 20-goal striker
  • Arsenal considered favourites to sign Leipzig striker

  • The England international fell out-of-favour at the Emirates at the start of the campaign, and this urged him to join the Cherries on a season-long loan despite being the subject of interest from both AS Roma and AC Milan.

Wilshere continued to earn a regular run in the Cherries midfield, and this led to suggestions that Eddie Howe could sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

However, things have since gone the exact opposite for Wilshere with Howe deciding to drop him in order to play two strikers in Benik Afobe and Josh King upfront.

Wilshere is still in the blue over his future at Arsenal, and according to The Sun, he may not be at Dean Court next season as he does not fit with the club's style of play.

The Three Lions midfielder has just 15 months left on his Arsenal contract, but manager Arsene Wenger remains confident that Wilshere will stay committed to the club.
