Arsenal plan £26m bid for Leipzig midfielder

17 March 2017 - 18:34

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a summer approach for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, The Guinea international has impressed for the Bundesliga newcomers since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg last summer.

  • Confirmed Man Utd line-up vs Liverpool, Matheus Cunha starts
  • Chelsea quoted price to sign Igor Thiago

  • Keita, 22, has evolved into a key performer for Leipzig, who have turned heads in the German league this season. Leipzig were initially expected to struggle in their first coming to the Bundesliga, but they have managed to groom a bunch of youngsters, who have transformed them into genuine challengers for Champions League football.

According to The Star, the Gunners are set to offer stiff competition to Bayern Munich this summer as they seek to secure the services of Keita, who is often compared to Chelsea's N'Golo Kante.

Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick recently admitted that he would not swap Keita for even 'Paul Pogba' in his setup, but it is understood that a fee of around £26m could be sufficient to do business for the player.

Keita's side are, for now, assured of a Champions League place for next season, but even this, may not keep the midfielder at the club this summer.
