Hazard sale could see Conte leave

Conte wants assurances before signing a new contract

Hazard sale could see Conte leave

31 March 2017 - 10:18

With Eden Hazard emerging as Real Madrid's number one transfer target, Chelsea could be hit with a double dose of bad news, with Antonio Conte potentially leaving the club if his star players are sold.

  • Cole Palmer reacts after Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest

  • News is Spain is suggesting that the Madrid club are prepared to pay in the region of £100 million to land the Belgian star and also considering the possibility of part exchange deal to tempt the Blues.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is currently in the process of being offered a new contract by the club. Under his management, Chelsea have dominated the Premier League this season, something that the Italian is keen to build on. It is understood that Conte will only agree to a new deal if he is given assurances that funds will be made available to improve his team, whilst also keeping hold of their star players. This comes as Conte has plans to not only continue dominating the domestic league, but also intends to return the Champions League to Stamford Bridge.

By allowing the sale of Eden Hazard, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich risks not only losing his team's key player, but also the manager who has been getting the best out of the players. With Inter Milan keen for Conte to return to Serie A, he would no be out of work for long should he decide to leave Chelsea.
