Rooney keen on pushing for China switch

Man Utd star wants China transfer

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney will reportedly push for a move abroad following his limited gametime over the course of the current campaign.

  • The 31-year-old has not had the best of times in the United shirt this season with Jose Mourinho reluctant to offer him a starting spot ahead of the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (now injured).

According to The Express, Rooney is prepared to end his long-term association with the Red Devils in order to pursue a fresh challenge in the Chinese Super League.

Rooney currently has two years left on his present deal at Old Trafford, but he is nevertheless open to a new test after having become disillusioned with life in Manchester.

The England international has started just six outings for Manchester United since the turn of the year, and he does not appear to be a regular starter despite a season-ending injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Rooney stands the chance of receiving at least £500,000-a-week on his move to the Far East, and he could take up a big payday with his Three Lions future looking bleak.
