With second place guaranteed in this season's Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur could have taken their foot off the pedal at Leicester on Thursday. That certainly wasn't the case, as the North London club scored six against Leicester City.
Both teams put on an exciting game of football, but it was Spurs who were the more clinical and made their chances count. The deadlock was broken when Leicester couldn't track Harry Kane's late run into the box, allowing him to finish from close range. They were 2-0 up ten minutes before half time, when Dele Alli teed up Son Heung-Min, who turned and volleyed home well.
Fifteen minutes after the interval, Leicester were back in the game. Highly rated left back Ben Chilwell made the most of confusion in the Tottenham defence to finish calmly.
The Foxes hopes were diminished just minutes later though, when that man Harry Kane scored again with a close range header. Son Heung-Min got his second of the night and made it 4-1 by picking out the bottom corner of Kasper Schmeichel's goal from outside the area.
If Harry Kane's first two goals were poachers efforts, his second two certainly weren't. The England man scored from outside the box twice in the last three minutes, to give Spurs a 6-1 win on the night, and put him at the top of the Premier League scoring charts, with just one game left to play.
