Reports coming out from France have confirmed a world-record €130 million bid for Kylian Mbappe from Manchester City.

  • The 18-year-old was a revelation for Monaco this past season, scoring 26 goals in 44 games as the French club won the Ligue 1 for the first time in 20 years and making it all the way to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The French teenager has become hot property and Europe's elite clubs have all been lining up to sign him. Real Madrid reportedly had a world record €120 million bid for Mbappe rejected while Liverpool's €75 million bid was also turned down.

However, French publication Telefoot has revealed that Manchester City lodged a bid of €130 million for Mbappe which eclipses the world-record €120 million Manchester United spent on Paul Pogba.

The report also stated that an unnamed club, believed to be Real Madrid, have also bidded €130 million for the teenager. Monaco have yet to decide upon the bids but it is thought that they will demand an even higher price for the striker.

Guardiola has already signaled his intention to spend big in the summer with the €50 million acquisition of Bernardo Silva from Monaco. Spanish paper Don Balon reported that the City board has set aside €300 million for Guardiola to get his targets as they aim to win both the Premier League and challenge for the Champions League crown next season.
